Data License
Free for non-commercial use. Commercial use is licensed.
This license covers the sanctions dataset published by Sanctions Intel — the programs, authorities, country mappings, restriction classifications, change history and any bulk export or API response derived from them ("the Data"). It does not cover the source code of this project, which is licensed separately.
1. Non-commercial license (CC BY-NC 4.0)
For non-commercial purposes — personal research, academic work, journalism and evaluation — the Data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). You may copy, redistribute and adapt the Data for non-commercial purposes, provided you give appropriate credit:

2. Commercial use
The non-commercial license does not permit commercial use, which includes, without limitation:
- Screening, monitoring or compliance workflows operated by or for a business.
- Incorporating the Data into a product or service offered to customers (including redistribution or resale, in whole or in part).
- Internal business use by a for-profit organization.

3. No warranty
The Data is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It is compiled from public sources and may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. It is not legal advice and must not be used as the sole basis for any sanctions-compliance decision. Always verify against the official source linked from each program.
